December 2015 – Update

Hi Guys!
This will be my last post of 2015, I am presently in Fort Lauderdale for pre-production of the nightly sets the band and I will be performing on the Carnival Glory Ship. Those sets comprise revues of Motown, Disco, Classic Rock, 80’s Pop/Rock, 90’s and Beyond as well as a Variety Set. I am very lucky to be sharing all this time with my band mates who are all amazing musicians. In the next few months I will try and get some video and audio footage from our sets to show you part of my adventure.

I also received a new video from Hugo Valentine’s gig at the Notting Hill Arts. Enjoy ‘Don’t You Forget Me‘ by Hugo Valentine.
Stay tuned!

November 2015 – Update

Hi guys!
I have been back in Canada for a month now and I’m sadly about to leave for a little bit, incidentally missing the cold temperatures Canada has to offer.  I will be leaving for a cruise ship contract to play with the RockBand 2.0 on Carnival Glory, cruising through the Caribbean’s.

Though I am leaving, I worked on a new promo video for 2015/2016 and I thought you might want to check it out! The video features live performances with some great musicians as well as some audition videos.
Stay tuned!

October 2015 – Update

Hi Guys!
As you know I have been on holidays in Brasil for the last month, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been doing anything. I have been developing some projects and got myself a subbing gig for a cruise ship’s show band which will be starting in a few days. I updated my Macbook to an SSD drive, and its really fast, so this will facilitate my music technology use and study.  I also exported a video from my time in the U.K, the song is Call Me Maybe – Carly Rae Jepsen which was part of my study of music technologies and live performance.  Studying Pop Music Performance entails a lot of Pre-Production, like the sequencing, doubling, back vocals… etc, my thesis was an exploration of those processes and had as a goal to determine whether Music technologies elevate or depreciate Live Music Performance. I hope you enjoy!

There is more material coming up! so Stay Tuned!

2014/2015 MMus Summary

Hi Guys!
As you know I left Canada in September 2014 in order to get my MMus in Popular Music Performance. I had the chance to meet amazing people, perform with amazing bands and learn from some great teachers here in the U.K.  A few hours ago, my journey reached its completion as I have handed in my last assignment.  I am extremely grateful to have had the chance to be here as well as learn about my craft and I am looking forward to sharing these skills with other people!  Thanks to all my London friends. As I am writing this, I am soon to board a flight first to Brasil for a holiday and then back to Canada by the end of the September. I will hopefully have some news, videos and new projects to share with you when I get back home!

Stay Tuned,
PL

Late August 2015 – Update

Hi guys!
I know it has been a while since I gave you some news! I’ve been working really hard on my Research Paper which is titled: Are Music Technologies Elevating or Depreciating the Art of Live Music Performance?
Well, I have officially finished it, it is printed and ready to be submitted, 2 days before the deadline. I’m really proud of this piece of work and I am looking forward to present the practical portion of this research via my recital on the 27th of August.

July 2015 – Update

Hi Guys!
My trip last month was really enjoyable. I had the chance to play with amazing musicians, perform and spend time with my friends and family. As for the future, I have bought Ableton Live 9 Suite which will enable me to sequence, loop and sample audio clips during live performances. It has only been a few days, and I think there might be no limits to what this software can do.  I will keep you updated on my progress and hopefully have some killer tracks to show you!
Stay Tuned!
